A Las Vegas crowd belted out “God Bless America” in a heart-warming show of unison and patriotism just moments before a lone gunman opened fire on the country music festival, killing 59 people and injuring nearly 600 in the worst mass shooting in American history.
Video of the emotional moment was posted on social media by famed country duo Big & Rich, who were on stage when those in attendance took out their phones, flashed their lights, and joined the group in singing the patriotic song.
“This is a POWERFUL moment of American unity. It’s time to unify. We love the fans and are heartbroken #prayforvegas,” wrote the duo.
The footage was taken just minutes before Stephen Paddock rained bullets down on the crowd from the 32nd story of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, turning the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival into a killing field.
Music star Kaya Jones -also on stage for the touching moment- posted a video of the patriotic crowd singing in unity moments before the carnage began.
